I'm a big girl now!!!

Hello Everybody!

It was a rough day yesterday. I went to the doctor and got some shots. There I was...sleeping peacefully...and this nurse just stabbed me with a needle. Really with 4 needles! It hurt! My face turned purple and I screamed louder than mommy knew I could scream! Mommy tried to soothe me but I was ticked. In any case, it went away pretty fast but I have let it be known on and off throughout the day that I was not impressed!

While at the doctor, I also got weighed and measured. I got an A! I am in the 95th percentile...mommy wasn't surprised at all. She calls me chunk a munk and threatens to eat my thighs...(daddy wants my cheeks). In any case, I now weigh 12 pounds and 3 ounces! At my 2 week visit I was 9 pounds...I'm an overachiever. I also measured in at 23 inches. Like I said...I am a big girl now!

Well, I am 7 weeks old today and back to sleeping through the night. Mommy is very gateful and tells me how good I am all the time! We are getting ready for Thanksgiving and can't wait to see family and friends. We love and miss all of you!

My first 6 weeks!!

Hello everybody! I can't believe I will be 6 weeks old this Wednesday...Halloween! Wow...does time go by quickly! I feel like I was just swimming in mom's belly and giving her heartburn yesterday! In any case, sorry I have been out of touch. It was a bumpy first six weeks. As you probably heard, mommy got real sick right after she got home from the hospital. Oh...she is ok now but the first 3 weeks were rough. Luckily, I was born into a great family so everything worked out.

First, my Grammy came out...that is my mom's mom. She was supposed to be here for five days and ended up staying almost 3 weeks to take care of mommy. Mommy says she saved her...all I know is that grammy let me sleep on her chest every night. That is, until Dr. Irani, my pediatrician, scolded her and said no more. But we still snuck in a few nights.
At one week old I would sleep 6-8 hours a night (thanks to grammy's chest) and I could hold my head up already! Dad says I am advanced! Of course, just because I slept that much didn't mean mommy did. She was up every two hours. I would be sleeping soundly and suddenly she would poke me to see if I was still breathing. She just couldn't believe I would sleep that long on my own...come on...it is not rocket science!

When I was 1 week old, my other Grammy (my dad's mom) came out with my Aunt Mimi...my dad's sister. Boy was I in heaven! They spoiled me rotten! My Aunt Mimi goo gooed all over me and the two of them would fight over who got to hold me! Grammy would snuggle me and let me sleep on her chest too. Two grammy chests in one house...it was like baby heaven! They got to stay 3 days and I had the best time with them! (All the other pictures with my Aunt Mimi are on her camera...the only one mom and dad had was of her back...but I love this shirt...prrrrrr....)

When I was two weeks old my Aunt Lynn (my mommy's sister) and my cousin Libby came to stay. Boy...my cousin Libby sure has set the bar high in the cuteness department...I have to work hard to keep up but I am up for it! In any case, I don't think she liked me very much. Whenever Aunt Lynn would hold me...or even Grammy...she would get mad. She didn't care if mommy held me but as soon as Aunt Lynn got near she stepped in. I can't say that I blame her. My Aunt Lynn is the best! I would keep her to myself if I didn't think Libby could "take me out". When Aunt Lynn did get to hold me...usually during Libby's nap...once again I was in heaven! She would coo and talk to me in baby talk. I loved it! The second week Mr. Brian also came to visit. He just came by for dinner since he was in town for a business meeting but it was great seeing him. Mr. Brian spoils me rotten and always has a gift for me. I didn't get any pictures with him but it was nice having somebody else there to dote all over me!

Next it was my Grandma Vicki and Grandpa Walt's turn to visit. That was so much fun. I loved my Grandma Vicki! The first night she was there she caressed my forehead until I fell asleep...it was SO nice! It was the day that they arrived that I began smiling...at 4 weeks old...and not just from having gas! That is two weeks ahead of schedule for those keeping track! Anyway, we got out a lot when they were here so that was a lot of fun. Grandpa Walt and I have a lot in common and we spent the weekend doing them together...burping and tooting! I loved being held by him...he's funny just like my dad!

Week 5 was a little bit rough. First, mommy got sick again. Then, my doggy...also known as my security system, Brady, passed away. Mommy, and especially daddy, were devastated. We miss her all the time but we are glad that it happened quickly and she didn't suffer long. Luckily, mommy was only sick for 3 days this time and grammy was all too happy to jump on a plane and come out and see me again. She was here for 3 days and it was great! Grammy chest again! We snuggled and played. I showed her how I smile and how I can spit up an entire meal down her shirt even if she has a burp cloth on! Hee...hee...hee!

Now that things are getting back to normal and we are getting into a routine, mommy and I walk every morning together. Then, I cut her some slack, and stay asleep in my stroller while she grabs a shower. For the rest of the day we either play, run errands or visit with my B.F.F. Paige and Miss Molly. I love my bath, riding in the car, my walks in the stroller and when you talk to me. I don't sleep quite as long during the night anymore but still about 4-5 hours - not bad. This week I seem to be having a growth spurt because I eat all the time!!! So in a couple weeks my pictures may look very different!

Here are some links to my picture albums. The first is just some pictures of me over the last few weeks. The second link is pictures with all my visitors. The last link is some pictures from the second half of my hospital stay and going home which I never had the chance to send out. Hope you guys enjoy them!

I've Arrived!!!

Well, that wasn't so bad...at least for me. I don't think my mom would agree with that statement though! For those of you who didn't know, mom was scheduled to be induced on Wednesday at 6:30AM. But I didn't like that plan. So I put her in labor at about 5PM on Tuesday instead. Mom and dad went to the hospital at about 11 PM and were admitted at 2 AM.

Things slowed down from there. There is a lot of dramatic stuff I could share but mom prefer I not. So, let's just say, I showed up at 2:45 PM and mom and dad were very grateful!!!! Dr. Moore pulled me "out of my previous home", turned me around, and waved my hand up at my mom and said "hi mom". It's just what I was thinking so I was fine with that. I got to lay on mom's tummy while all these nurses started attacking me with towels and wiping off the french onion dip and tomato sauce that covered my body. From there, they took me to be measured, weighed, and "scored". My first Apgar score was an 8 and the second was 9. Not bad...they say nobody gets a ten and I got the 8 the first time cause I was purple instead of pink. Picky...picky. I measured 8 pounds, 14 ounces and 22 inches long...mom said she could have told them that (I don't get what she meant by that but they all laughed at it). At this point, my dad held me for the first time. I just stared at him trying to determine if this is where I got my cuteness from. After a little bit of time that mom had to spend with Dr. Moore, she got to hold me next. And, suddenly, it was quiet. Everyone left except mom and dad and it was just the three of us. They were both crying so I just laid there and tried to make them feel better.

Since then I have taken a hearing test which I passed. Highest grade in the class I might add. I am a great eater - sucking very well. I have gone number 1 and number 2 - something people around here make a big deal out of and like to count - weirdos. I slept through my first night - and so did my Dad. Mom was up most of the night though. Every now and then there would be this blinding light in my eyes while I was trying to sleep. It was mom taking my picture.

So that is the first 24 hours of my life. I will leave you with some pictures of me that I am sure I will be embarrassed of in about 16 years!

My Nursery!!!!

Welcome to my room! My daddy worked for months on this room and...about 36 hours before I am scheduled to make my appearance...he is finished! I had mom and dad include a "before" picture to show you how much he changed (see the link at the bottom for this picture). He began by putting up the beadboard, 3" baseboards, and crown molding...whatever that is! Then he painted all the wood in the room (all those things I just listed) ivory. Next, he painted the walls pink and the ceiling a lighter shade of pink. He also painted the curtain rod and the letters above my crib. I think he did a great job and is the best dad ever!

Mom's part was to shop. Notice the chair and ottoman...that took some explaining, well - a lot of explaining, to dad. The furniture wasn't a hard sale. In fact, it was dad that insisted on it. But I have been reminded it will stay with me through college! My crib turns into a toddler bed and then a double bed. There is also a matching nightstand and dresser. My mom is in love with the artwork she found. I have been reminded that I have nicer artwork than her and dad do!

The curtain was from my friends Maddy, Mackenzie and Drew Mazer. Really, their grandma handmade it for their room but it worked so perfectly in mine it looks like it was made for it! Vicki (that's their grandma) is the bomb!

Once you click the link below, you will be able to see my room from many angles. I would like to point out that my daddy even painted my closet. In fact, the closet rods are black to match my furniture...for some reason he was really excited about that.

I hope you like my new room! I can't wait to come home to it! Daddy and Mommy say if I am not here by Wednesday, September 19th (my Uncle Greg's birthday) they are coming in after me! So, sounds like I will be meeting you guys (at least over the Internet) soon!

Security System

This is Brady...my security system. Dad calls her the attack Pit Brady. She is practicing standing guard outside my room (which mom won't let her in). This is a warning...don't try my security system...she's a killer!
